In brief

The HepaRG cell-model study reports a 71% increase in S‑adenosylmethionine and changes of up to fourteen-fold in cellular methylation measures.

The study evaluated Optifolin+®, a proprietary combination of L‑5‑methyltetrahydrofolate and choline, in a HepaRG human-hepatocyte model over 96 hours. The aim was to measure methyl-donor availability and cellular methylation signals.

According to the reported findings, treatment increased S‑adenosylmethionine by 71% and selected DNA-methylation measures by up to fourteen-fold. The result supports a plausible biochemical mechanism in the experimental system used.

A cell model does not reproduce absorption, systemic metabolism, dose, duration or clinical outcomes. The finding does not establish healthy ageing in humans and requires bioavailability studies, validated biomarkers and independent clinical trials.

Why it matters

It illustrates a B2B strategy combining established micronutrients, mechanism, biomarkers and an epigenetic/healthy-ageing positioning.

Evidence limit

This was exclusively an in-vitro study linked to a proprietary ingredient. It does not demonstrate absorption, beneficial epigenetic effects or clinical benefit in humans.
