Twenty-four male professional football players completed four randomised conditions: L-carnosine, L-tyrosine, the combination and placebo. After supplementation they performed a Wingate fatigue protocol, sprint, agility, passing and Stroop tests.
Versus placebo, the combination increased peak power by about 17% and mean power by about 16%, reduced sprint and agility times by 7–13% and shortened incongruent Stroop reaction time by about 15%. Blood lactate did not differ among conditions.
The crossover design reduces individual variability, but sample size and a highly selected setting limit translation. Independent replication, comparable dosing, duration testing and more diverse populations are needed before broad positioning.
The concept integrates neuromuscular performance with cognitive control, offering a more specific direction than products focused on energy alone.
