The multicentre randomised double-blind placebo-controlled study included 150 women aged 40–60. Participants received 300 mg or 500 mg of Fenavari®, a standardised combination of Trigonella foenum-graecum and Asparagus racemosus, or placebo for 84 days.
Both doses improved total Menopause Rating Scale scores versus placebo, with a larger effect at 500 mg. Authors also report favourable results for hot flashes, night sweats, sleep, mood and anxiety.
The study is peer-reviewed, but one author is employed by OmniActive Health Technologies. Its duration is short and several outcomes are subjective: the dossier becomes more substantial, but still needs independent confirmation and longer follow-up.
