Sixty healthy participants aged 18–49 were randomised to one daily capsule containing 150 mg of heat-inactivated H. coagulans MTCC 5856 or placebo for 30 days.

Vital signs, haematology, biochemistry, adverse events and selected immune and inflammatory biomarkers showed no clinically meaningful intervention-related changes.

The findings strengthen safety documentation for this specific preparation. They should not be read as evidence of immune efficacy: study duration, population and objective define the scope of the result.

Why it matters

For postbiotics, strain-specific characterisation accompanied by human safety data is a useful component of development and due diligence.

Evidence limit

A short safety study in healthy adults: it does not demonstrate immune efficacy or transfer to other strains, doses or populations.
